I think that I can easily say that Professor Layton is one of my favorite DS series of games. I really enjoyed playing through Professor Layton and the Curious Village, and I couldnt wait to get my hands on the next game in the series. Two hours (and twenty puzzles) in, and I am having a blast.
For those of you not familiar with the series, Professor Layton is a “puzzleholic.” The game entails you navigating Professor Layton and his apprentice through a world map of sorts, and you interact with either people or the environment to find puzzles. Some of these puzzles are mandatory and must be solved in order to advance through the game, while others are purely optional (but you still get points for completing them.)

So I recently got a DS, and finally got a couple of games for it. One of them is Professor Layton.
Prof. Layton is a very interesting, addicting, and fun game. Basically you play as Prof. Layton, who, along with his apprentice, go to a town to investigate a mystery. The main gameplay comes as a variety of puzzles/brain teasers/riddles which the townspeople will throw at you and you must answer in order to advance.
The puzzles are of a large variety, and require you to use the stylus to either draw connecting lines, arrange items, or circle an answer. The answer to the puzzle is usually something tricky…some are easy, and some are insanely difficult. I always get a very pleased feeling when I work a puzzle out and find out I was correct…I guess it makes me feel smart.
The puzzles are so entertaining that I can see anyone who likes a brain challenge to enjoy it. Shell has also been enjoying the game herself. Its a very addicting game with awesome gameplay, cute and pleasing graphics, and superb voice overs. Its a really great game, and I recommend anyone with a DS to check it out. I just feel that it would appeal to anyone, from hardcore to casual gamers.
