I’ve put in a few hours to Lego Harry Potter, and the game is currently 99.9% complete. I found 20/20 red bricks, 200/200 gold bricks, 96/96 house crest pieces and…166/167 character tokens. The only character I am missing is simply called “boy”, and, due to a glitch in the game, I am unable to unlock him.
This random boy is located in the Charms classroom, in front of a bookcase. You are supposed to go in front of the bookcase, cast the levitation spell to move the books around, and the boy’s token will appear. However, in my current game, the bookcase is inactive, meaning I cannot cast the spell on it to move the books around, meaning I cannot get the character, meaning I cannot get 100% complete, meaning I cannot get the platinum trophy. I have 90% of the trophies, and am only missing the 100% complete gold trophy and the platinum. I am pretty upset over this silly glitch, as it is the only thing standing between me and my sixth platinum.
I’m perusing the internet looking for a fix, but it seems that it has been a some-what common glitch, though not as common as the “dungeon of doom”, which I didn’t come across. I hope I find one soon so I can ship this piece of junk back to Gamefly.

Yesterday this game was awesome, now it’s a piece of junk because you’re missing ONE token??? Sooooo… does that mean you don’t recommend it anymore? Because i was really looking forward to playing it
No, no. The game is still a must-play. I suppose it will only torment you if you are a trophy whore, or a perfectionist. If neither title applies to you, then the game will give you far more joy than grief.
Did you ever find a fix for this? I am in the exact same boat and it’s so frustrating. I’ve completed everything else in the game. I just need this one character.
Nope, they haven’t fixed it yet as far as I know.
I can’t find the character token ‘boy’ either. But I also can’t find the 200th gold brick. The game is now at 97% or something, but I can’t complete it due to this glitch…
Yeah, the boy glitch stinks. As for the gold brick, with 200 of them in the game, I’m not sure which you missed. I suggest going to gamefaqs.com and following one of the guides to see if you can track down which one you missed.
This “boy” character is literally all that’s keeping me from a platinum. It’s so frustrating…

I’ve run through “A Jinxed Broom” in free play mode about a half dozen times. I am trying to unlock the Slytherin crest, when I use Dark Magic on the chest near the end, I get a blue coin which usually means I have already unlocked the item. When I reach the end it still stays I’m missing this crest. Has anyone else seen this problem? Any suggestions?
I’m not sure. I didn’t have a problem in that area…just the stupid “boy” glitch.

Nope, not yet. I just checked on gamefaqs.com, and people are still complaining about it and not mentioning the patch. At this point it seems to me that TellTale games doesn’t give a crud and won’t be doing anything to patch this remainder of this buggy game. Granted, they did release a patch for the “Dungeon of Doom” bug, but it looks like they stopped caring after that.
Hi, i feel your pain with the glitch. I have the Lego Harry Potter Platinum, but i dont think i ever had that problem, maybe its not a glitch maybe you just have to get it the first time around. I am not sure exactly what the fix is, but i do have the 100% and platinum so it is possible.so the glitch is not effecting everybody. Maybe there is a way around it
Check my trophies if you think its impossible.

The glitch does not affect everyone, but more people experience a glitch of some kind with this game than with your average game. Of course some people don’t experience all the glitches, and some avoid them all together. I was lucky enough to not get trapped in the “Dungeon of Doom”, but the “boy” glitch got to me. There are tons of other glitches in the game as well. You can check out the game’s message board on gamefaqs.com and you will see plenty of people complaining about the problem, though what percentage of the players experience a glitch of any sort is unknown. All I know is that I am jealous that you got to play through the game glitch-free.
I got the PC cracked version first and made it all the way to year four and got stuck on the dragon glitch where the 3rd dragon wouldnt rise on the elevator platform. I never got past it. When I got the PS3 version i had already played through most of the game and was extremely relieved when i made it past the dragon task. There were several times when i swore the game was glitched and couldnt find what i needed (bricks, tokens) but ended up i was looking in the wrong places. There were a few times i wanted to give up on it all together. But all in all it was an awesome game and if you’re persistent you can probably get the platinum. good luck.
patch 3.0: bug is solved
If this is true, then I’m going to get the game back in from Gamefly and get my platinum trophy!
Well, from what I can see online, this patch does not exist. Patch 1.03 just came out awhile ago, but it does not fix everything. I see no mention of it fixing the “boy” glitch.
I can confirm that patch 3.0 DOES solve this bug.
The boy token popped as soon as I entered Flitwick’s classroom.
As for the trophy, you have to make sure you have 100% before it will pop. After I got the boy token, I only had 99.9% because I still had one red brick to purchase. You also have to go to Diagon Alley and purchase the “boy” character.
One more strange thing…after I finally did get 100%, I had to leave the shop in Diagon Alley before the trophy itself popped.
I am renting the game again from Gamefly this week (as long as it’s available…it’s got a high availability now), and I will definitely post an update when it comes in and I (hopefully) snag the platinum goodness.

I’m having a bit of a different problem with the game. I was playing with my girlfriend and logged out for a minute. Little did I know that she completed 2 achievements while I was gone and I can’t get back. I understand that I missed them just because I dropped out of the game but my controller was still on and I was signed in. Plus my game saved automatically onto the correct user. Its very frustrating that the game knows to save on the correct user, but does not know to unlock achievements on the same user. I just wondered if there was a way I could do the achievements over or do I have to replay the entire game over again?
I’ve heard of this happening with other games as well, where if the guest (person using controller 2) activates a trophy, it will not register as being activated. As for if you can re-do a trophy, I’m not sure. On the one hand it doesn’t show up on your trophy list, so you would think you could go back and get it. On the other hand, the game might already acknowledge that it was activated and you may not get it if you go back. Which trophies do you want to go back and get?
