Wedding Cake Tastings Part II

Filed under Food & Drink, My Personal Life

So a few posts back I mentioned how we got some free samples of wedding cake from Coccadots. Well this weekend we got a sample from The Cookie Factory. I was pretty disappointed.

First off, they did not really give us a choice. Where Coccadots asked us what we wanted to try and then made mini cakes out of our request, The Cookie Factory just gave us six random cupcakes. Three were yellow cake and three were chocolate cake, all six had butter cream frosting, and the fillings varied from preserves to custards. While it was good to get to try different fillings, it was sad that we couldnt get a variety of cake flavors.

As for the cake flavor itself, it leaves a very weird aftertaste. We are not fans of the cake. Thus, I think Coccadots wins the Big Bad Bob wedding contract. Not only did they go out of the way to give us a personalized sample of what we wanted, but they also went way out of their way to make it look good. Its not like they gave us a six-pack of cupcakes that we could have picked up at the Price Chopper bakery…they gave us two mini wedding cakes, which gave us an impression of their professionalism, dedication, and skills. The Cookie Factory gave us some cupcakes…big whoop.

Based on the presentation and TASTE, Coccadots wins by a landslide of deliciousness.
