I cant believe this blog is still down. Its sad. I put this money into my site to make it nicer, and its been busted up ever since. Its quite annoying. I just havent had free time to sit down and call the company. Another problem is that I just hate calling the company. I called once, and they have definitely decided to outsource to Delhi, because I had some crazy Indian on the phone and I couldnt understand what he was talking about. It was bad times. This whole outsourcing business is bad times.

Netflix
I think this is the third time Ive signed up for Netflix. I keep going back and forth. Its a real neat system, but eventually it gets pricey. I always used to go for the three at a time. This time around, however, I went for the one at a time to keep costs down. It only costs $9.00 for one DVD at a time, plus I get to watch some movies and tv shows directly on my laptop. This new feature is quite awesome.
So yeah, Im glad to have Netflix again. Shell and me like movies, and its cheaper to get the Netflix monthly subscription than to go and rent one movie a week at Hollywood Video.
Huzzah to Netflix!!!
Chicken Cordon Bleu
So for Shells b-day, I put away the crock pot, took out the frying pan, and made a real meal for her of Chicken Cordon Bleu. Of course, I use prosciutto instead of ham, which gives it a much better taste. Also, Hannafords had imported Finnish swiss cheese on sale, and that cheese was delicious and made a big difference on the dinner.
All in all, it came out awesome. I was very impressed with myself. Im glad that I can cook a few meals without the use of the crock pot.
Pummelled with Work
So its now crunch time. I only have a few weeks left in the semester, and all my projects and such are coming due. I have a 20 page research paper due in my History class on the U.S. policy of recognition towards the Soviet Union in 1917-1918. I have a lot of the research done already, but havent really started writing it yet.
I have to write up a lesson plan and a unit plan for my social studies education class. Im going to have to teach a 20-30 minute lesson on U.S. Citizenship for my lesson plan, and my unit plan will contain more lessons on citizenship and voting and whatnot.
I also have two group projects in my other two education classes. I guess group projects arent as bad as solo projects, but its still stuff I have to think about and put time into.
All I know is that it has been eating into my gaming time, and I dont like it one bit.
Wii- Zack & Wiki Review
I tried this game once when I first snagged it, but felt it was very cartoony and simple, and quickly put it down about 1/2 hour into it. However, all I kept hearing about was how good it was, and that it wasnt a kids game, and blah blah blah. So about two weeks ago I picked it back up, and played it a bit more. It was then that I realized what a jewel this game is.
I think its very easy to compare it to Boom Blox. Both games have a very “kiddy” title and graphics, so at first glance it appears to be a children’s game. However, both games are actually complex puzzlers, and will leave you scratching your head in frustration. You play as Zack, a young pirate, who runs around with a golden robot monkey searching for treasure. Basically, you meet an undead pirate, and agree to help him rebuild his scattered body parts. Thus, each level is a huge puzzle, with multiple steps which must be completed in order to finish it and claim the next body part.
However, these steps require taking a step back and really examing the environment. Every action you take has a reaction, and sometimes these reactions can result in your death. For example, say theres a rope. If you cut it, a rock will fall on your head and crush you. Thus, you have to find a way to protect yourself before you cut the rope, so that you dont get crushed when you do cut it.
Since the puzzles are really tough at times, its nice that there is no time limit during each level. You can take your time exploring the environment and experimenting until you figure out the right process. The controls are also very simple. You use the Wiimote to control a cursor on screen. The cursor moves Zack around, and also interacts with objects. You then use the Wiimote to do the actions needed for that object. For example, you pull back on the Wiimote if you want to pull a lever, or make a scooping motion if youre using a shovel or scooping water.
This game is one of the definitive Wii games, simply based on its controls and fun factor. This game will keep you occupied for quite some time, and right now you can buy it really cheap in stores. I highly recommend spending the $10 and adding this bad boy to your game collection.
