This is a very simple recipe I use when cooking meats. Its mostly something I learned from when I was little. My Dad used to make up a marinade when we grilled, and I soon got stuck manning the grill, so I used the marinade when cooking. Today, I use it for when Im baking or broiling as well (since I dont have a grill at my apartment.)
Anywho, like I said, the recipe is very simple, but adds a nice flavor to whatever meat you’re cooking. It can be used with beef, chicken, pork, or probably any other type of meat. Also, I dont use measurements for this one, so I’ll give you the basic gist.
Meat Marinade
Olive Oil
Red Wine Vinegar
Garlic Powder
Oregano
Salt
Ground Black Pepper
The basis of the recipe is the olive oil. So grab a small bowl, and fill it up with some olive oil. Next, place a splash of red wine vinegar into it. You dont want to use too much, just a little bit. Then add the rest of the spices and mix it up.
When cooking, use a pastery or meat brush to apply the marinade to the meat. I generally apply a coat each time I flip the meat. If you run out of marinade, just apply more olive oil to the bowl. Dont worry about making a whole new batch.
Not only does this marinade bring some nice flavor to the meat, but the olive oil also makes the meat a bit more tender and juicy. This is very helpful when Im cooking meat in my oven, because its not as good as a grill. But the marinade helps out quite a bit.
